Sherman is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist who specializes in working with couples and families. He also works individually with adults and adolescents/teens. In addition to providing family therapy services, Sherman also provides parent skill training to both parents and caretakers. He works with families and couples to identify and change dysfunctional patterns and to encourage healthier and more effective ways of relating to others. He enjoys helping couples and families adjust to change, improve communication, manage conflict, and develop coping skills to deal with life stresses and challenges. Sherman uses a culturally sensitive, integrative systemic approach to therapy that transcends and integrates the predominant models in contemporary psychotherapy (including cognitive-behavioral, humanistic-existential, and psychodynamic). This approach integrates the most effective elements from these different therapeutic models. As a result, he is able to offer a highly personalized approach that is tailored to the unique needs of each client. Sherman strives to work as efficiently and effectively as possible by progressing from the most simple and direct interventions to more complex and indirect interventions when necessary.

Sherman earned his Master’s Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Northwestern University. He has experience providing counseling services to a diverse population including children, adolescents, adults, the elderly, the deaf and hard of hearing, and those with neurodivergence and intellectual and developmental disabilities. He has provided services in private practice, community clinic, and long-term care settings.

Sherman is a first generation Filipino American. During his career, he has consulted with small and medium-sized family owned businesses, he has taught advanced courses in Psychology at the college/university level, and he has worked as a consultant in training, organizational development, and career development. In his free time, Sherman enjoys playing tennis, hiking, nature walks, listening to music, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Dr. Nill has been nothing short of a lifesaver! She listens, she observes and makes suggestions that she feels will benefit the needs of her patients. Not to mention her staff who are very patient and supportive of your quality of care. I went from self destruction to a path of peace and self love thanks to the help of Dr. Nill and her staff. Not only has she saved my life, but also my marriage. She has been a blessing to me! Thank you Dr. Nill!

I have the most profound sessions with Arica Keyser using ART to clear PTSD and even just little t traumas that have occurred. I am amazed at how this modality has shifted each trauma with just one session each.

Having been in healthcare for 18 years, I am very aware that I have experienced a lot of trauma especially during covid. I love this therapy as I don't need to talk about it outloud, and she repeats how my brain knows what to do while utilizing a script and eye movement. It works within just one session and is extremely empowering!

I highly recommend for anyone with PTSD or just needing to clear experiences that have had an impact on life!!!!!
