Psychiatric Services & Medication Management

Psychiatric Care at Mindful Living Group
Living with a mental health condition can feel isolating and overwhelming.
You may have tried to push through on your own, unsure whether what you're experiencing requires professional support or uncertain where to even begin.
At Mindful Living Group, psychiatric care is part of your wider support plan. Our psychiatric providers work alongside therapists, counselors and other wellness practitioners so your medication management is connected to the rest of your care.
We believe that healing isn't one-size-fits-all, and that the most effective care happens when clinicians take the time to understand the full picture of who you are and what you need to feel your best.
Psychiatric Conditions We Treat
Depression
Depression is more than having a bad day or feeling sad. It can show up as low mood, exhaustion, loss of interest, changes in sleep or appetite, feeling disconnected from people or struggling to get through everyday responsibilities. Some people might feel tearful and others feel numb, irritable or simply unlike themselves. Depression can affect people differently and support that is tailored to your experiences and symptoms can help.
Anxiety
Anxiety can feel like constant worry, racing thoughts, a tight chest, trouble sleeping, panic attacks or the constant sense that something bad is about to happen. It may affect your work, relationships, concentration, health or your ability to enjoy daily life. Anxiety is common but you do not have to keep managing it alone.
Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder involves shifts in mood, energy, activity and sleep that go beyond the usual ups and downs of life. Some people experience periods of depression alongside periods of unusually high energy, less need for sleep, impulsive decisions, racing thoughts or feeling intensely driven or agitated. A careful evaluation can help clarify what is happening and what support may help.
PTSD and Trauma-Related Symptoms
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can develop after a frightening, overwhelming or deeply distressing experience. It may involve nightmares, unwanted memories, feeling on edge, avoiding reminders, emotional numbness or strong reactions that seem to come out of nowhere. Complex PTSD (often called CPTSD) can develop after ongoing or repeated trauma, especially when it happened over a long period of time or in relationships where you should have been safe. Alongside trauma symptoms, it can affect self-worth, emotional regulation, trust, relationships, and the ability to feel safe or settled in your body. Trauma affects people differently and support can be tailored to your experiences and symptoms.
ADHD
ADHD can affect focus, organization, time management, motivation, impulse control and the ability to follow through on everyday tasks. It does not always look like hyperactivity. For many adults, it can feel like being constantly overwhelmed, distracted, forgetful or behind, despite putting in a great deal of effort. An evaluation can help distinguish ADHD from other concerns that may look or appear similar.
Other Concerns We Evaluate
We also support people experiencing OCD, panic attacks, sleep difficulties, eating disorders, substance use, mood changes related to hormones or life transitions and questions about whether medication may be helpful. You do not need to know exactly what to call what you are experiencing before reaching out and we are here to help you make sense of what you are experiencing.
Psychiatric Evaluation, Diagnosis & Medication Management
A Thorough Evaluation
Care begins with a full psychiatric evaluation, where your provider explores your mental health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, medications and any physical health factors that may be influencing how you feel.
A Plan Built Around You
After an evaluation, you and your provider build a personalized treatment plan together, which may include medication, ongoing management of it over time and other supportive interventions tailored to your situation.
Medication Is Only One Option
Medication is one possible part of your plan rather than a conclusion. Your provider will talk through what may help and work with you toward an approach you feel comfortable with.
Coordinated Care
Your psychiatric provider works alongside therapists and other practitioners, so your medication care is connected to the rest of your support.
Ongoing Review And Adjustment
Your provider stays with you as things change, checking how you are responding and adjusting the plan rather than leaving you on the same prescription indefinitely.
Telehealth Across The Islands
For people who prefer to meet remotely or live on other islands, telepsychiatry makes consistent psychiatric care accessible without the need for regular travel.
