In-Person Trauma Therapy

Understanding Trauma and How Trauma Therapy Works
Trauma therapy is integrative clinical care designed to address the ways that painful or overwhelming experiences take root in the body, mind and sense of self. You are invited to bring choice and pacing that feels right to you at every stage of the process.
At Mindful Living Group, in-person trauma therapy draws from a broad range of evidence-based and evidence-informed modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brainspotting, somatic therapy, hypnosis, depth psychology, insight-oriented approaches and new & emerging therapies.
Our approach is selected collaboratively, in response to what you need most at any given stage of your journey.
Every provider within our cooperative is either trauma-informed or a trauma specialist. Our providers understand that trauma can live in the mind and body and are trained to work with each person holistically.
The Benefits of In-Person Trauma Therapy
A Safe, Private & Dedicated Healing Space
In-person trauma therapy gives you a private space away from daily distractions, where you can focus fully on your healing without navigating difficult emotions from home or through a screen.
Real-Time Co-Regulation
Your therapist can notice shifts in your body language, energy and emotions as they happen, helping you feel grounded, safe and supported when intense feelings arise.
Deeper Body-Based Work
In-person sessions can make somatic trauma therapy, EMDR, Brainspotting and other experiential approaches feel more supported, present and connected to what your body needs.
In-Person Therapeutic Connection
Being in the room together can create a deeper sense of trust, safety and human connection which is an important foundation for processing trauma at a pace that feels right for you.
Trauma-Informed Modalities We May Use: EMDR, 5-AMDR, Brainspotting, ART, CBT & Somatic Therapy
EMDR & 5-AMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach that supports the processing of distressing memories through structured bilateral stimulation within a safe, relationally supported therapeutic container. 5-AMDR was developed by Dr. Vince Nubla, LMFT, a provider at Mindful Living Group, who expanded on treating 5 core layers of trauma to elicit a deeper recovery.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is an evidence-informed, somatic approach that uses the visual field to locate and process unresolved experiences stored in the body, offering a gentle, body-centered pathway for trauma and emotional integration.
Insight-Oriented Therapy
Insight-oriented therapy invites a deeper exploration of patterns, beliefs, and relational dynamics that shape present-day experience, cultivating self-awareness and meaning in a supported, reflective therapeutic relationship.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy recognizes that the body holds wisdom that talk alone cannot always reach, integrating physical awareness, breath, and sensation into the therapeutic process to support holistic, trauma-informed care.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based approach that uses eye movements and voluntary image replacement to address distressing memories and symptoms, supporting meaningful shifts within a relatively brief course of care.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that explores the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, offering practical tools for navigating anxiety, depression, and a wide range of life challenges.
When to Seek Trauma Therapy
- Does something that happened to you still affect you today, even if it happened a long time ago?
- Do you find yourself reacting to certain situations, people or places in ways that seem bigger than what the moment calls for?
- Have you noticed that your body stays braced or on alert, even when nothing is actually wrong?
- Have you worked on trauma before and found that your understanding of what happened has not changed how it feels in your body?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, our trauma specialists are ready to help you.
