What Is Psychotherapy & Counseling?

Psychotherapy is a space to work through what feels difficult, alongside someone trained to help you do it.

At Mindful Living Group, our therapists draw on approaches with strong evidence behind them, along with body-based work and an understanding that your culture and beliefs are part of who you are.

Whether you are carrying something unresolved from years ago, moving through a change you did not choose, or living with the steady weight of anxiety or depression, you will find someone here who can help.

Our providers work as a cooperative, which means they share values, talk to each other about how to support you well and hold responsibility for your care together.

Who We Support: Individuals, Couples, & Families

Individuals

Individual therapy gives you a private space to talk through what you are experiencing and get support with challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationships, or major life changes. Your therapist works with you to better understand what is happening and find ways to feel more grounded and supported.

Couples and Partners

Couples therapy helps partners understand the patterns affecting their relationship and find new ways to communicate, manage conflict, rebuild trust, and feel closer. Your therapist makes space for both perspectives while helping you work toward shared goals for the relationship.

Families

Family therapy brings family members together to better understand one another and work through challenges as a team. It can help families communicate more openly, navigate conflict, respond to major changes, and strengthen connection during stressful or difficult times.

Issues We Commonly Treat

Trauma Recovery

Trauma can affect how you feel, think, relate to others, and handle daily life. We use trauma-informed therapy to help you process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe for you.

Anxiety and Stress

Anxiety can look like constant worry, racing thoughts, panic, poor sleep, or feeling on edge. Therapy can help you understand what is driving it and learn ways to feel calmer and more in control.

Depression and Altered Moods

Depression can make it hard to find energy, motivation, connection, or enjoyment in daily life. We offer a supportive space to understand what you are going through and find ways to feel more hopeful and engaged.

Life Changes and Transitions

Changes such as a move, loss, illness, new relationship, divorce, parenthood, or career change can bring stress and uncertainty. Therapy can help you work through what is changing and find your footing again.

Safe Space for LGBTQIA+, Indigenous, People of Color and Allies

We welcome LGBTQIA+ people, Indigenous people, people of color, and allies. Our care respects your identity, culture, background, and values, so you can show up as yourself.

Our Integrative Approach: EMDR, 5-AMDR, Brainspotting, ART, CBT & Somatic Therapy

EMDR & 5-AMDR Therapy

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma-informed, evidence-based approach that supports the processing of distressing memories through structured bilateral stimulation within a safe, relationally supported therapeutic container. 5-AMDR was developed by Dr. Vince Nubla, LMFT, a provider at Mindful Living Group, who expanded on treating 5 core layers of trauma to elicit a deeper recovery.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is an evidence-informed, somatic approach that uses the visual field to locate and process unresolved experiences stored in the body, offering a gentle, body-centered pathway for trauma and emotional integration.

Insight-Oriented Therapy

Insight-oriented therapy invites a deeper exploration of patterns, beliefs, and relational dynamics that shape present-day experience, cultivating self-awareness and meaning in a supported, reflective therapeutic relationship.

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy recognizes that the body holds wisdom that talk alone cannot always reach, integrating physical awareness, breath, and sensation into the therapeutic process to support holistic, trauma-informed care.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based approach that uses eye movements and voluntary image replacement to address distressing memories and symptoms, supporting meaningful shifts within a relatively brief course of care.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, evidence-based approach that explores the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, offering practical tools for navigating anxiety, depression, and a wide range of life challenges.

Please check each provider's bio pages for additional modalities each provider is training in such as Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment, EFT (Tapping), Emotionally-Focused Therapies and more.

Is Psychotherapy Right for You?

  • Are past experiences still affecting how you feel, relate to others or handle everyday life?
  • Is anxiety, stress, or low mood making it harder to sleep, focus, work or enjoy the things you usually care about?
  • Are you going through a major change, loss, relationship issue or family challenge and need support?
  • Do you want a therapist who understands your background, identity, values and what matters most to you?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, our team of therapists is ready to help.
