Jessica Brazil, LCSW, RYT specializes in an integrative and multi-cultural approach to health and wellness. She has over 16 years of experience specializing in clinical and rural social work completing her BSW in 2003 and MSW in 2006. She currently serves as Founder and CEO of Mindful Living Group overseeing a team of professionals dedicated to mindful living and improving the lives of others through health and wellness services. She has a thriving practice providing direct psychotherapy, supervision, and consulting services. She also provides public speaking engagements and continuing education services, leads international and local mindfulness retreats, helps implement mindfulness programs and self-care workshops in schools and business, and works as a Practicum Instructor for the University of Hawaii Masters of Social Work program. She also served on the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) board for over 10 years, is a former research assistant with Eastern Washington University, former professor at Northwest Nazarene University, and former Director of Mindfulness Programs for Maui Recovery.
Jessica specializes in treating a variety of mental health, relationship journeys, somatic awareness issues, and existential processes, through a variety of treatment models including; Meditation, Hypnosis, Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT), Solution Focused, and Emotionally-Focused Therapies. Jessica was trained by the developers of TF-CBT through the National Child Traumatic Stress Network and trained by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She also received her yoga certification and studied with Sikh guru’s of the Kundalini Research Institute which gave her an expansive set of tools in balancing the nervous system and utilizing breath, movement, and sound for creating desired states of consciousness. Jessica has given many talks and continuing education training events for associations, conferences, businesses, and agencies.
Jessica’s yoga and meditation teaching styles are influenced by a variety of Mindfulness teachers and an intuitive blend of hatha, vinyasa, and kundalini yoga. Her passion is helping people tame fear to embrace whole-hearted living through the power of creative visualization, dream awareness, breath, ceremony, tuning in to the subconscious and unconscious self, and in doing so connect more deeply to awareness and creative potential. A passion for Hawaiian culture and our indigenous nature has created opportunities for working with a wide range of ages, cultures, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and backgrounds from infancy to geriatrics, professional athletes, performers, military professionals, and public figures. Her areas of strength are in opening the mind-body-spirit relationship. Jessica believes, accessing whole-hearted living is the key to happiness and our passions blended with a willingness to receive help, be authentic, and adaptable to change are key ingredients to living a healthy life. Jessica enjoys yoga, meditation, surfing, skydiving, making music, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family and dog.
