Family Nurse Practitioner

I practice finding mindful moments throughout the day, and I can show you how to do it, too.

Jennifer Nill, DNP, FNP-BC is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, and graduated with honors as the first Maui resident to earn a Doctorate in Nursing Practice through the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Dr. Jen Nill specialized in Family Nursing Practice, with a focus on transcultural care for people of all ages in rural island populations. She holds additional mental health certifications through Evergreen Certifications: a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional. Dr. Jen also has further education through the American Psychiatric Association, and certificates in psychopharmacology. She's has taken coursework in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from Beck Institute, Psychological First Aid from John Hopkins University, and is also certified as a Mindfulness Meditation Teacher.

Integrative mental health is an empowering approach to connecting our physical world with our overall health and wellbeing. In line with the concepts of Integrative Care, Dr. Jen promotes collaboration to achieve health and wellness, working very closely together with Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and Counselors and Therapists. "I believe that we all can benefit from looking at ourselves and working with a healthcare professional to become a better version of ourselves. I see myself as one part of your team, with you as the head of the team.

She uses her education and experience to give back to the community of Maui as a Doctor of Nursing Practice in several ways: teaching evidence-based lifestyle habits, assessing for imbalances with lab tests, specific nutrition for health, annual physical exam, and practicing mindfulness with clients. "It is my hope to have each person on the least amount of medications with the most benefit." She also teaches new Doctoral students at Regis College with the hope of growing extraordinary and compassionate providers.
Jen gives back to the community by volunteering on the west side, helping at beach clean-ups, and she and her husband spend summer Saturdays volunteering as officials at the canoe regattas. Jen was a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters for 10 years and is passionate about children's charities. She also loves spending time gardening, surfing tiny waves on her longboard, running 5k's, and riding her road bike. Jen is working on a research study at Johns Hopkins using ultra-brief mindfulness to help healthcare providers and plans to publish the study results in 2025.
