Nancy is a licensed mental health counselor in Hawaii, with over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist and mental health counselor working with individuals, couples, and families in diverse populations. She has worked with a broad spectrum of emotional problems that affect mental health and has a perspective that includes the interconnectedness of body, mind and spirit.
It is her intention to meet you where you are, engaging in this important work. She can assist you in clearing past issues impacting your current well-being so that you may re-claim joy, peace, and meaning in your life. Whatever your goals are, she can co-create a way of working together that best suits your needs. With guidance and tools for healing, self-empowerment, and success, you will undoubtedly move toward a healthier happier life.
Nancy honors your uniqueness and approaches this work together with curiosity. She is committed to providing a safe, respectful, empathic, nonjudgmental setting to explore your issues together. Distress can be lessened with effective strategies and new skills. Her specialized, client-centered approach allows for a connection with clients where there is a focus on insight, goals and change. You can learn to overcome fears, worry, and discouraged moods, as well as to manage stress more effectively.
Being a part of your journey whether we meet for one session or many is a privilege for her. Nancy loves doing this work and strives to bring integrative treatment modalities such as Cognitive-behavioral/Mindfulness based practices, Narrative therapy, EMDR (eye movement and desensitization reprocessing), EFT (emotional freedom techniques), and solution focused therapy, suited for your needs.
Nancy utilizes mindfulness practices daily, which to her mean conscious awareness of the present and staying present, regardless of the activity. Using the present wisely helps with stress, healing, and allows inner wisdom to be more accessible. Yoga and meditation are also helpful practices for her. For fun Nancy enjoys time with others, nature walks, hikes, and hanging out with her twin grandchildren.
