Art Therapy Group for Youth
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
Wednesdays @ 2:30 – 3:30 pm ~ Ages 14-18
Mindful Living Group will be hosting an art therapy group for youth with Ann Van Patten, LMFT. It is called Abstract Mindfulness and is a branch of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. The intention of the group is to build a supportive space where we can grow together through cultivation of respect, compassion, and understanding. This group will take place outdoors, with social distancing, and include mindfulness activities, expression through art, discussions, and sharing on weekly topics based on the group’s evolving needs.
Art is a great use of self-expression that minimizes irritability levels, pain, and stress. With or without previous art history, artistic ability, or special creative talent, anyone between the ages of 14-18 is welcome to join this judgement free zone. The group will meet beginning on September 30th, at 2:30pm for a 10 week journey. The meeting location will be in Kihei at Park Plaza, 1300 North Holopono St. #108.
