Rigpa Shunya ARNP, Board Certified through ANCC in Adult Psychiatric Medicine, is a psychotherapist and practitioner of Dzogchen Tregcho Semde. Graduating from California State University, Long Beach, CA in 2012, Rigpa has 8 consecutive years of practice experience specializing in treating a wide spectrum of psychiatric conditions, such as generalized anxiety, panic disorder, PTSD, major depression, ADHD, bipolar mood disorder, anger problems, marital relationship issues, and the practice of forgiveness.
Prior to his ARNP education, he lived the life of a yogi and spent years in meditation practice. He traveled to India and Nepal and gained the experiences of transcended states of mind, including Super Consciousness, Shunyata and Wakeful Nature of Mind. He believes every human’s true nature is enlightenment, thus capable of revealing, manifesting and living through enlightened qualities, such as boundless compassion, kindness, patience, and love for all. Rigpa believes that the obstacle to an Enlightened State, that obscures one’s Brilliant light and qualities, is the gross layer of mind. He calls it the “Ego Personality Layer of Mind,” and finds it to be very important to transcend this to reveal and gain an identity with the transcended state of Super Consciousness and reveal the essence of mind, the Shunyata.
Rigpa’s approach is client focused and evidence based, the client being the director of their treatment, as he works in collaboration with the provider team on applying psychotropic medications and his own therapies. He provides healing methods to transcend harmful, negative, and destructive emotions and apply them as a stepping stone to further the state of Super Consciousness. His main goal is to help others reveal and return to “The state of Enlightenment.” He believes that once one does, they will find true mental health healing and live in a state of inner peace, contentment, fulfillment, and completion.
