Dr. Vince Nubla, PhD, LMFT–known as “Dr. Vince” in the community – is a licensed mental health therapist who has treated adults, teens, and children for the past twenty-three years. He has dedicated his practice to treating Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and other emotional disorders. He offers various treatments options, such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Behavioral Health Education. Dr. Vince also works with couples to improve their affection, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Professional Experience
Dr. Vince holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy. He has worked in various capacities in the mental health field: they include supervising mental health programs, providing treatment in clinics, schools, and in clients’ homes; teaching in universities, and training other professionals in the field towards State licensure. Dr. Vince is fluent in both English and Filipino.
Professional Passions
Dr. Vince has personally benefited from EMDR. Not only is he a treatment provider… Dr. Vince is also a “survivor”!! Experiencing PTSD symptoms while in his first year in college and undergoing EMDR successfully, Dr. Vince quickly changed his major from Business to Psychology. He told himself, “I’m going to learn this technique and use it to help other people.” He has been doing it passionately and driving home after work with a big smile and a warm heart. Dr. Vince knows how EMDR works from both sides.
Understanding what motivates people from different cultures to maintain their emotional well-being is another passion of Dr. Vince. He has traveled to different rural provinces in Asia to meet with people to study this and shares his findings in supervision groups that he leads.
Dr. Vince practices mindfulness by journaling, exercising, scuba diving, and keeping his work-family-self life nurtured and balanced.
