Email: Chase

Dr. Chase Conrad is a Counseling Psychologist and licensed psychotherapist in his home state of Hawaii. Chase has a passion for providing professional and effective therapeutic services with warmth, empathy, and expertise. He has worked in the field of psychology for more than nine years and excels in developing an individualized approach to each client. His clinical experience includes working in mental health clinics, hospitals, academia and private practice settings.

His practice focuses on counseling for adults, couples and adolescents. He works with individuals struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, social skills, cultural differences, lack of direction/meaning, emotional regulation, fears, grief, traumas, addictions and personality disorders. His therapeutic approach is a blend of Western insight-based therapy combined with Eastern teachings. Therapeutic goals with clients are ambitious: in addition to symptom removal and alleviation of pain, he strives to facilitate personal growth and basic character change.

Clinical Experience –

Dr. Conrad worked for four years in mental health hospitals and dual-diagnosis rehabilitation Clinics in Florida as a psychotherapist where his client spectrum included individuals with disorders ranging from schizophrenia, drug addiction, mood and personality disorders, to those battling depression and anxiety. He further worked with a psychiatrist as neurofeedback practitioner and EEG (electroencephalography) analyst for two years.

Academic Experience –

Dr. Conrad worked in academics for four years as a university psychologist in Asia at Western (American home-based) universities. This role included individual counseling, as well as leading workshops for students on mental health issues and cultural transitions. Two of his four years in academia were spent as a university psychology professor teaching Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Stress Management and Abnormal Psychology.

Multi-Cultural Counseling –

Dr. Conrad has over six years of experience counseling in Asia, where he counseled individuals from 25 different countries, in university, clinical and private practice settings. His research emphasis for his dissertation was based on Intercultural therapy in Western/Eastern therapeutic relationships and continues to be his research interest moving forward.

Personally, Chase approaches mindfulness through meditation in motion and practicing non-attachment. He is an avid mountain hiker and slowly becoming more comfortable in the water.
